Packaging & First Impressions
When it comes to the king of the all-terrain iPod case, Otterbox rules the land. Adding to the impressive collection of waterproof iPod cases (Otterbox for iPod photo review) Otter Products LLC has done it again by protecting the smallest of the iPods, the wee iPod shuffle.
The Otterbox for the iPod shuffle is a hard plastic case and comes with a black neck lanyard that can be added as a away to carry it around. It has controls on the front that mimic the iPod shuffle, though in a grey rubber. On the back there is a button and window to check the battery level and see if the shuffle is on. We liked all the different controls but did miss the ability to turn the shuffle on and off without taking it out of the case. The top of the case has a headphone jack while the bottom is the latch to open and close it up tight. Getting the iPod in and out is really a snap but did remind us of feeding a gator.
Everyone Shuffle into The Pool
Here at the iPod Tips Lab (ITL) we were enable to get our pool much above 40 degrees (damn heating elements!), so we settled for some more around the house tests like a glass of water and our tub. We splished, splashed away and the Otterbox kept our beloved iPod shuffle (512MB model don't cha know) safe and warm. The lanyard went on and off easy enough and looked smashing with a towel. We were, however, a bit disappointed not to see a belt clip on the back of the case as that is how we like to care our shuffle most of the time.

Conclusion
Another hit from the people behind the OtterBox line of cases. The OtterBox case for the iPod shuffle while lacking a belt clip and on/off control is a great option for taking your music into sea, the pool or just out reporting on another hurricane.
