PC Pro: Apple iPod drives MP3 player shipments
UK Magazgine, PC Pro is reporting that iPods and other MP3 player shipments were up a ton (116%) in 2004. The iPod nation continues to grow.
"Shipments of MP3 players rose by a whopping 116 per cent in 2004, as hundreds of compelling products arrived in response to the overwhelming success of Apple Computer's iPod, according to iSuppli. Propelled by the surging growth in demand for hard disk drive (HDD)-based products, iSuppli predicts shipments of MP3 players are expected to rise by nearly a factor of four from 2004 to 2009."
