Grocery IQ - iPhone App Review

A look at the grocery list manager for the iPhone and iPod Touch by Free State Labs.

Grocery IQ

The iPhone has become tool for many things from phone calls to surfing the web and now with Grocery IQ it can handle your shopping list. To start off you have to search through the included database of 130,000 items which is easy to do. As you come across any item you can choose the size and quantity and add it to your list with a nice animation. If you think it is something you might buy more than once, add it to your favorites list.

When you are out shopping, Grocery IQ presents a categorized list of items to buy. A really nice feature is the ability to customize the category names to better suit they you think about foods.

Buy Buy Buy

As you buy things, just check them off the list or if you aren't the one heading to the store email it to someone who is (poor soul). Want more Miller Lite for Sunday, just up the quantity.

Conclusion

Grocery IQ is a best in class iPhone App in that it adheres to the user interface standards but also adds in a few little tweaks. If you still shop offline, this little app could make your trip just that much easier and is well worth the price.

Pros

  • Good integrated help
  • Icon badge for list items
  • Nice graphics

Cons

  • Still a little more work than pen/paper
  • Would like to see online grocery store integration
