Netflix for iPad Review
A review of Netflix for the iPad.
Stream Me Up Baby
A lot of applications for the iPad are getting attention, but the Netflix streaming app, never available for the iPhone or iPod touch was made available the first day of the iPad. We got our hands on it ($free) and put it through its paces.
Web Version
While this might be a native app for the iPad, it looks and feels like they just skinned the Safari browser with some detection and converted all of their videos to HTML5 format for streaming. The navigation around the sit is a little pokey, with clicks seeming to take more than a few seconds to get up and running.
We headed right over to 30 Rock and started into Season 1. The streaming quality is very good although the sound sometimes was a little off. The hardest part of watching the show was trying to navigate between episodes. We finally got it by started from the "More Information" page on Netflix and just going episode by episode.
On a couple of other movies, the application would crash but luckily it would pick back up where you left off.
Snap Judgement
Overall, it is a great start and gives the iPad owner just another reason to crow. The interface could be better, but the price can't be beat (requires Netflix unlimited subscription)

- iPad friendly & price
Cons
- Crashed a few times
