Notes on the iPhone?
There are a ton of questions about the iPhone most of which are about SDKs and how will the touchscreen work for input. It seems like nobody is asking the most basic question which is where are the notes?
In the recent email and website Apple released more information on how users will be able to sync contact, calendar, music, videos and email with a Mac or PC but they say nothing about notes. We know there is a notes application because we see the icon in every shot of the iPhone. We know all things are going to sync through iTunes just like an iPod/Apple TV does but this bring up a big question.
Where are the notes going to sync to?
As far as we know there is no Mac OSX native native notes application. Sure there is one built into Leopard but we doubt that the feature will be disabled until then. There are third party applications abound from Bare Bones and Mark/Space but nothing we have seen from Apple. There are stickies in widget form, but to sync hundreds of notes with that would be suicide.
So Apple, give us a little clue, show us your notes and how they will work. Don't make us guess too much.
